This document discusses challenges and issues around access to quality health information in Africa. It notes there are over 2000 languages spoken in Africa and issues around eHealth literacy, physical access, and affordability of technologies. It recommends training community health workers to act as information proxies and exploring mobile peer-to-peer approaches and social networks to disseminate culturally sensitive health information. Developing quality standards for African health content and policies that encourage bottom-up information sharing models are also suggested.
